Completed Stories and Poems

Savanna is struck by grief and falls into a deep depression after fatally losing a friend.  Who was this friend?  How does it impact her reaction to a joke that is offered?  What started out as something to make her laugh again, becomes her dependency on erotic novels.  How close to the edge does Savanna get?  How does the romance genre help pull Savanna back to the living?

Too Many Shades of Gray:  Grief and Modern Romance

In search of alternative treatment to a rare condition, Savanna copes with a setback.  Turning to her physical therapist for help, she experiences a whirl spin of past events that help her fight.

Band-Aids

Why does Savanna write?  Through her struggles trying to write lies, she finds that she is bound to the truth.  Unwilling to share spoken words to confess where she is from and the life that surrounds her, she finds her voice on paper.

The poetic form is used to confess fragments of truth in Savanna's past.  Speaks to unwanted violence and stereotypes due to unchosen zip codes when growing up.

Poetry captures the physical innocence and struggles of Savanna's son through his hands.  With emotional strife and growth, the hardship and beauty of life is taught as Savanna follows her son's hands.
